I have been around volleyball for about 25 years. All three of my boys played competitive (all adults now) and I have worked at BVAC for 23 years. I have attended countless clinics, practices and tournaments. But, my strong suit is in the office, registering players, registering for tournaments and always looking for ways to improve the volleyball program. I'm so exicted about our ATTACK Coaching Staff for the 2014-2015 club season. They are experience, qualified and ready to push our players to work hard and develop into great athletes. Watching the players improve their skills and enjoy the game while learning to work as a team is my goal for the ATTACK volleyball.
I have coached 7 years of Junior Olympic Volleyball for BVAC. I also have volleyball coaching experience in BVAC leagues. I have played volleyball for over 10 years in youth leagues, high school, and adult leagues. I am also a ref for BVACs youth leagues. I look forward to improving player’s skills and abilities in volleyball and seeing them grow throughout the season as a team and individuals. The 2014-2015 is going to be a great club season for ATTACK VOLLEYBALL.
I began my volleyball career over 30 years ago as a high school player, winning two state championships. I then went to Northwest Missouri State University on a volleyball scholarship and set school records in assists, serves, and digs. During my time at NWMSU, we were ranked in the top twenty Division II teams in the nation for three of my four years. Following college, I continued to play club volleyball at the AA (equivalent to junior gold) level for the next ten years. Upon graduation from college with a degree in education, I became the Varsity volleyball coach at Winnetonka High School. During my nine years as head coach, we won three conference titles and a district title. My career then led me into administration and my volleyball work ended for the next few years. However, my passion for the game remained. Three years ago, I began coaching youth in recreational leagues and the desire to move back into competitive and club ball quickly returned. This will be my second year coaching club ball, but the passion I have for the game and what I want to instill in young players is as strong and clear as when I began over 20 years ago. As a coach, my goal is to teach strong fundamentals and instill a competitive drive, while ensuring players have fun and develop a love for the game.
Hello my name is Amy Kerns, I have been coaching for club volleyball for the past two years in addition to coaching other leagues in between. My coaching is simple; I don’t expect or ask anything from the girls that I coach then what I expect from my own daughters who play which are respect, motivation, and the drive and passion to play. Winning is wonderful, however losing builds character, desire to improve, humbleness and a greater appreciation of the win. If there is ever a down time with volleyball I enjoy being outside, HOT weather and of course playing you guessed it volleyball. GOD/JESUS, my six amazing daughters and my family is what completes me.
Together win or lose we are a TEAM!
I have had 12 years of volleyball experience, 3+ years on the coaching side. I am a 2004 graduate from Holden High School where my team was awarded a State Championship Medal my senior year. Throughout my Volleyball career I have participated in club ball and assisted with numerous Volleyball Camps. I have a passion for the game and my goal as a coach is be a part of that passion development for the girls. I believe fundamentals are key to success alongside Teamwork and FUN.
